Many of us were a little hesitant about eating the food of a different culture for two weeks.  Our first meal on foreign soil helped alleviate that - Burger King!
	This is the standard meal in the Dominican Republic.  Beans, rice and plantains.  The second most  popular combination includes plantains, rice and beans.  This is followed by the third: rice, plantains and beans.
	If you ask for coffee in the Dominican this is what you'll be handed.  But don't get discouraged about the size of the cup.  It packs a very powerful punch!
	This is a common dinner.  Dominicans eat their large meal at lunch time so supper usually consists of bread, cheese and sometimes a dessert.
	On the last day the cooks gave us a real treat.  A pig with an apple in its mouth!
